Hi Jean!
OK, I gotcha! I'm thinking inexpensive, manly and bass-free! The
charted boat that I mentioned in my earlier answer is primarily for bass fishing; however, guests staying off-property can certainly participate. The catch and release fun at Ol'Man Island at the Port Orleans resort is also open to everyone. Over at the Fort Wilderness campground area, a similar catch and release area is available for $4/hour and includes the pole and some squiggly worms. I've heard that the main catches here are catfish, bluegill and unfortunately bass. However, I've heard that the fish are always biting!
I think that you are really going to enjoy all of the room that most time-share units offer! However, you may want to have your son-in-law take a tour of the Wilderness Lodge - a hunter's dream come true! It is a huge log cabin with soaring beams and enormous fireplaces. One stop here may have him dreaming of another trip! Over at the
Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, he can ride horses, go on a hayride or even have an archery lesson. All of these are pretty darn inexpensive and can be booked by calling 1-407-WDW-PLAY. Have a great time!
Much pixie dust,
Jackie S.
