Do they still have the fishing excursions? Who do you contact to arrange an excursion for my family

    Hi JoAnn,

Yes, there are opportunities to go fishing at Walt Disney World.

At Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside you can head to 'Ol Man Island.  There you can participate in old fashioned cane pole fishing with a catch and release policy.  Guests at Disney Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are also welcome to fish along the resort's many canals.  No reservations are required for either of these experiences.

If, however, you're looking to go out on Bay Lake or the Seven Seas Lagoon to fish, then call (407) WDW-PLAY to reserve a pontoon boat and guide for several hours of the best fishing you've ever experienced.  One of my son's favorite Disney memories is the fishing expedition he took with his dad and cousins Jake and Skylar.  He caught bass that were nearly as big as he was!  It was an exciting morning.

Have fun planning your fishing expedition!

    Best wishes,
    Jill
