I am a first-timer and planning a trip around Thanksgiving 2017. I've heard that for kids to participate in the Jedi Training, I'll have to sign up the kids in the morning. Are there other activities at Disney World that require a morning sign-up?

    Hi Nikki ~

Planning a first trip to Walt Disney World can be super exciting and a little overwhelming. There is so much to see and do that it is hard to know where to start. Have no fear - the Disney Parks Moms Panel is hEAR and we would love to help you!

You're correct, in order to register to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, you should plan to be at Disney's Hollywood Studios early as registration begins when the park opens for the day. Since you're visiting during the week of Thanksgiving, I would recommend being there as soon as it opens to register. This is a super popular experience for kids and sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost located between the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and the 50's Prime Time Café. Your kids will need to be with you when you go to register.

While Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple is the only thing you need to register for once you reach the parks, there is always the potential of extra magic for Guests that arrive early. The Magic Kingdom typically chooses a Family of the Day. If selected, Guests may get to help open the park or appear as Grand Marshalls for the afternoon parade. These lucky Guests arrive super early so if you want to try this, plan to be there at least an hour before the park opens.

Another fun thing for kids to gather early for is Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial in the Magic Kingdom. Arriving early means you can get a spot near the stage and have a better chance of being selected to participate.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
