If a first-time DCL guest books multiple cruises before completing their first cruise, what happens to the later bookings once they receive a Castaway Club number? Is it automatically linked to existing bookings, or must it be added manually?

Ahoy, Wataru! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sailing over with your question about the Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club.

Disney Cruise Line recognizes its repeat guests with membership in the Castaway Club, which offers exclusive benefits based on the number of completed sailings. There are four different membership levels:

    • Silver Member: After completing 1 sailing
    • Gold Member: After completing 5 sailings
    • Platinum Member: After completing 10 sailings
    • Pearl Member: After completing 25 sailings

Each guest’s membership level is based on the number of sailings that they have already completed, no matter how many upcoming sailings are currently booked. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line does require that Castaway Club Members book or sail on at least one eligible cruise within 5 years of their last voyage to keep their membership level active.

If you have never sailed with Disney Cruise Line before, then you are not a Castaway Club member just yet and will not have a membership number. However, once you complete your first sailing, you will be assigned a membership number and will start receiving all of the Silver Member benefits.

Since all of your upcoming sailings are reserved under your MyDisney account, they are already linked together under your name. That means that once you complete your first cruise, you should see the activation of your Castaway Club membership happen automatically. To check your status, you can go to the main Disney Cruise Line website and log into your MyDisney account. Then click on the tab labeled “Already Booked” at the top of the page and select the “Castaway Club” option from the bottom of the drop-down menu under the section labeled “My Account.” That should open up a new page that shows your membership level and your Castaway Club ID number once it is assigned. If you are still not seeing an update to your membership status within a few days of completing your first sailing, then you can always call Disney Cruise Line directly for assistance.

I hope you have an amazing time embarking on your first sailing with Disney Cruise Line and enjoy stepping onboard again and again. There is so much to do and see that you simply cannot do it all in one sailing, which is why the Castaway Club has so many repeat cruisers. If you have any other questions, then feel free to reach out to us again at planDisney. Happy sailing!
