    We are first-time cruising the Dis. Wonder in Jan. 2018! There are several port adventures that we will do but there is one port stop that we would like explore the island on our own. Do people do this or do they always use the guided pre-pay adventures?

    Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can hear your excitement through your question! Your inaugural cruise aboard the Disney Wonder will be a blast! I remember our inaugural voyage with Captain Mickey as if it were yesterday. You will love traveling to exotic places while being surrounded by pixie dust every nautical mile of the way!

    I'm thrilled you've already scoped out several Port Adventures that you are planning to book! We love booking excursions for each Disney Cruise. With that being said, one of my family's favorite memories is when we didn't have a Port Adventure scheduled and went exploring around the island on our own! Mandi, people absolutely will go exploring on their own self-guided adventures! It's so fun stepping off the ship and submersing yourself in the cultures of the different ports of call!

    Be sure to check out the "Things to See and Do" and "Travel Information" under each port of call listing. You can learn more about the culture, how to get around the city and famous sightseeing destinations. There are also helpful safety tips you can review for exploring that particular port, too!
