Hi Laura!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm smiling so much at your question! I'm elated that you had a blast at Walt Disney World Resort this past March and are ready to set sail on a high-seas adventure with Captain Mickey! If you loved Walt Disney World, you're going to LOVE cruising aboard Disney Cruise Line. I'd be honored to give you my suggestions on planning your inaugural voyage!
For your first cruise, I recommend choosing an itinerary between four and seven nights. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy all that the ship has to offer during at least one full day at sea! Also, I highly suggest setting sail on a voyage that makes a stop at
Disney's private island, Castaway Cay! This is my favorite port of call and is only accessible by taking a Disney Cruise! Itineraries that sail to the Caribbean and Bahamas typically stop there for a day in paradise.
There are so many fun steps during the planning process for a future Disney Cruise! One of my favorite parts of the planning process is choosing our stateroom by using the
virtual deck plan. You'll find the staterooms to be so spacious aboard each of the four vessels. Then, sail over to the list of
Port Adventures offered at each port of call in your itinerary to see what exciting excursions you may want to book once your cruise has been paid in full and your
advance booking window opens!
Laura, I feel like I just skimmed the surface! Haha! If you have any more questions while you begin planning your inaugural voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line, please come back and visit us again!
