Is the first week of May 2011 a good week to go to WDW? Historically, are there any good vacation pkg deals during that time? Or am I better going late Feb, March or early April?

Hi Monica!  Deciding which month is best for a Disney vacation is tough. Crowds can be unpredictable and of course weather is even more so.

In 2011 Easter is a bit later and will fall on April 24. The weeks surrounding Easter generally are high attendance in the parks and ones to avoid if possible. The first week of May might be just fine or there might be a bit overlap.....much depends on school vacations across the country.

Late February has been a good time for lower attendance in the past, however, you will sacrifice the warm temperatures that many guests come to Florida to find. That doesn't mean it can't be warm but activities such as swimming are not as enjoyable because of the cooler mornings and nights. Average February temperatures range from 51-74 degrees and average May temperatures range from 66-88 degrees. There is also a higher chance of rain in May.

March continues to be a popular spring break month for families to plan a vacation so the crowds do pick up in this month especially from the mid to end weeks.

Not an easy decision. Our family always opts for the lower crowds and the cooler temps!
