First WDW trip for July - arriving on Tuesday and leaving Saturday. Traveling with 4 daughters (23, 15, 13 & 10 and my mom); any good ideas on itineraries for getting the most out of our time there? We are super excited for our first trip! :)

    Hi Cindy,

Wow!  What a great trip.  Your first time to Walt Disney World with such a wide range of ages, and all women!  It sounds like a wonderful time.  I am going to give you some general tips on how you can start planning your Walt Disney World vacation.

First, be sure to order the free Walt Disney World vacation planning DVD.  This DVD can help to give you some ideas of what each member of your party might like to experience at Walt Disney World.  If you let each member of your traveling party view it, you can get an idea of who is interested in what.  Which brings me to my next tip...do not be afraid to split up.  You have six people traveling together, and my guess is that all six of you will not want to do the same things all day long.  You can split up in the morning, and then all plan to come together for lunch to talk about what you did, and then split up into different groups in the afternoon.

Florida is hot and humid in the summer.  You can make the most of your day by arriving at a theme park early, even 30 minutes ahead of the posted opening time if you can.  This way, you will arrive before most of the crowds, and be able to take advantage of cooler temperatures and shorter lines in the early hours.  The afternoon is a great time for a break, whether that is a nap or a dip in the pool!  Finally, begin to thing about where you might like to dine at Walt Disney World.  Since you have a slightly larger group, it is a good idea to go ahead and make reservations as soon as you can.  You can do this online, or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

I would love to help you plan further Cindy; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer.  Please do write back if you have any further questions!
