First WDW trip for my boys. We are on a waiting list through RCI for a villa with no guarentee. Is it possible to book a room through disney and if I cancel use what I have already paid to purchase our tickets and dining plan through disney vacation club?

    Hello, Jamie!

This is a great question, and I think you'll be really happy with the answer! :-)

I called the Walt Disney Central Reservation line, (407) 934-7639, and explained your situation. A very helpful Cast Member explained to me that if you pay for a stay in a WDW villa, booking directly through Disney, that reservation will be charged to your credit card. Usually, you'd have to cancel at least five days prior to your arrival in order for your money to be refunded, via a credit to your same credit card account. However, if RCI manages to find you a villa reservation on WDW property, even if it is within that five day window, WDW will refund your payment, also via a credit to your card. Because you will be staying on property in a "duplicate" reservation (even if it's not at the same resort), WDW will credit  you your payment.

As such, you won't have a credit with WDW, but your credit card would no longer have those charges in your balance.

Hope this is what you were looking for! :-)

Be sure to send more questions as you make your plans for a fantastic stay in a Walt Disney World villa! I love to help!
