My first waitlist came through - Grand Californian, wow! For a split stay with Disneyland Hotel, would they transfer bags for us (like WDW) or should we plan to move them ourselves before going to the parks? So excited for our first official DVC stay!

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Amy! I'm so happy to see you back at planDisney with another great Disney Vacation Club question. You're always as welcome as can be, my friend!

Wow! Wow wow WOW! I am over the moon to hear that you are already experiencing the true magic of your DVC Membership. And I mean magic. Since the fabulous Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is currently the only DVC Resort at Disneyland Resort, it is incredibly popular with Members, and your waitlist coming through means that Tinker Bell has definitely sprinkled you and your family with extra pixie dust. And now you have a split stay at the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian and the iconic Disneyland Hotel for your first ever DVC stay?! That's what Disney dreams are made of! A dream is a wish your heart makes, so, let's get to your question and plan to make all your Disneyland wishes come true!

The pixie dust just keeps coming, Amy! I think you will be happy to hear that, like the Walt Disney World Resorts, Bell Services will happily transfer your luggage and non-perishable items from the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to Disneyland Hotel or vice versa. On your first checkout day, once you are packed up, just call Bell Services from your in-room phone and let them know that you are transferring Hotels and would like your luggage transferred. A magical Disneyland Resort Cast Member informed me that Bell Services will deliver your items to your next Hotel once the rush is over, usually around 1:00-2:00 p.m. She also advised that you call Bell Services about 20-35 minutes before you plan to head to the theme parks. Just make sure that you pack everything you may need that day, including medications, bathing suits or a change of clothes in your park bag. Now, let the magic begin!

Speaking of magic, be sure to head to the Member Benefits page on the DVC website to check out the latest and greatest in DVC discounts at Disneyland Resort to maximize your Membership Magic. Don't forget to download your digital DVC Membership Card from your My Disney Experience app to your smartphone's digital wallet to take advantage of all of your new DVC perks. More pixie dust coming your way, Amy!

One more thing! Be sure to stop by the front desk at your Hotel, City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or Chamber of Commerce at Disney California Adventure Park to grab a complimentary Celebration button to celebrate your first DVC stay!

I hope this was helpful to you, Amy! Please enjoy every moment of your vacation at The Happiest Place on Earth and take the time to soak in all of the magic. I have a feeling that this will be the trip of a lifetime! Stop by any time with any planning questions you may have along the way. Can't wait to chat again!
