We are going for our first vist to WDW with 2 girls (6 & 7) Sept 28 - Oct 3, 2011. We are looking for creative ways to have the girls count down to the trip. Any ideas? Thanks,

    Hi there Jessica,

Boy do I have a cute project for you!  You and your daughters should make a countdown chain.  We often do this as we await our next Walt Disney World vacation.  All you need is some construction paper and tape or glue.  Cut the construction paper into strips that are one inch wide and about six inches long.  Grab two pairs of safety scissors and get the girls to help.  Then tape the ends of each link shut as you add them one by one to the chain.  Feel free to decorate the links with Mickey stickers or drawings as you see fit.  Each link on the chain represents one day until your departure, so if you were to make your chain for September 28th today you would need 84 links.  Your daughters can take turns ripping off a link every morning when they arise.  As the chain gets shorter, the anticipation builds.  Trust me.  This can be plenty of fun and is a concrete visual reminder for your girls that the trip is only a set number of days away.  Have fun making your countdown chain.

Wishing you a fall Disney vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
