This is our first visit to WDW, kids are 9 and 7. Do you recommend the Park Hopper option? How feasible is getting to more than one park/day? Thanks!

    Hi Karen,

Congratulations on your upcoming first Walt Disney World vacation!  Be sure to pick up some free, "First Visit" pins at Guest Relations at whichever park you visit first.  If you are looking to save money, I think it's absolutely fine to stick with Magic Your Way base tickets.  Since you are on a first trip, you'll likely have no problem filling a complete day with the attractions, parades and special events at one park.  Even if you are planning on returning to your resort mid-day for a break, you can return to the same park later that afternoon or evening to finish enjoying what you missed.

If you do think you'd like to "park hop" and visit more than one of the main theme parks in a single day, it is easy and very doable.  My family has annual passes, and we almost always visit one park in the morning, followed by an afternoon visit to our resort pool and finish our day in another park.  A typical day might include a morning visit to Magic Kingdom, followed by lunch and a swim at our resort, a trip to Epcot for dinner, a few attractions and Illuminations, and then a return trip back to our hotel.

Park hoppers are nice, but not at all necessary to have a magical Disney experience.  If I had to chose between hoppers and some additional special experiences such as a character meal, visit to the Pirate League for a makeover and/or a dinner show (such as Mickey's Backyard BBQ or Hoop de Do Revue), I would absolute vote for the special experiences.

    Have a wonderful trip!
