Hello! This is our first visit with our toddler to the Magic Kingdom and we are staying at a non-Disney hotel. We purchased park tickets for Dec 22, 2023 and plan on renting a car to get to the Magic Kingdom. Where do I start? So overwhelmed with planning.

    Hello Arun!

Welcome to planDisney! I will give you the same guidance I would give my cousin Arun who has a little one as well. Sit tight and take careful notes because I have a lot to say!

First, you purchased your Theme Park Tickets but have you made your Theme Park Reservations? It's very important that as soon as you read this you get that completed. Make sure you have Magic Kingdom Park reserved as it can be blocked out! Magic Kingdom Park is just one of the four main Theme Parks at Walt Disney World Resort and my favorite. Magic Kingdom Park is the best for toddlers as it has the most rides with no height requirements. To make it easier to decide what you want to explore in each park here is the list of attractions in each of the four main Theme Parks that have no height requirements. Take a look and start thinking about picking at least five must-dos for each day in the Parks. Glance at the Hours & Events Calendar which will give you an idea about what is happening so you don't miss out.

Now that you have an idea about your day I suggest you consider dining and meals. My family enjoys Table Service meals at least once a day which is when we can rest and have someone serve me food and cool drinks. Since this is your first visit, consider a character dining experience. These are tough reservations to get as booking starts 60 days before but you may have an advantage with this last-minute planning. Since most dining reservations can be canceled with no fees up to 2 hours before you may get lucky! Quick Service meals are also a great option as they are convenient. Reservations are not needed but I suggest you learn about Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. While waiting in line at an attraction or enjoying the sights you can order your next meal or snack right from your phone via the My Disney Experience App. You pick a time slot and when you approach the dining location and time you will select the "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" button. Freshly made food will soon be waiting for you at a pick-up window. You will be visiting during a busy time in the Parks so my top tip is to check out the Mobile Ordering options early on in the day and choose the time slot that works well for you.

Disney Genie or Disney Genie+ is something to consider. Disney Genie is a free service on the My Disney Experience App that helps plan an itinerary for your day after you set up your preferences. Disney Genie+ is something you pay for that lets you select times to enter the Lightning Lane entrances. Lightning Lane entrances have shorter wait times and are a great way to enjoy even more attractions.  Disney Genie+ is purchased each day you wish to have it and starting at 7 AM you can make your first reservation. Keep an eye on your app as the next booking time will be noted on there. Set an alarm and don't forget!

I hope this helps as I have run out of space. If you have any more questions let me know! Happy Planning!
