Hi Kelli! In May I tried the Fort Wilderness cabins for the first time. I loved the location and how peaceful it was and the smell of pine around me. I would not try to fit a large family in these however. We had three adults and one toddler and stayed for ten days and we felt a bit crowded with all that we brought.
The back bedroom is small with a double bed and a bunk bed, one small night stand, one small 4 drawer dresser and a very small closet. There is also a tv in this room. The bathroom is a nice size and comes fully equipped with the shampoos and soaps etc. There is a little closet in the hall where you can find a vacuum if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of storage. The appliances in our cabin were old but functional and was not an issue for us. The living area contains a large table and chairs/bench, sofa and sofa table, and a small table and two chairs for the little ones. There is also a double pull down murhpy bed in the living area. For storage there are two cabinets under the window and a cabinet under the tv. You have internet hookup if needed.
The cabins are on the old side but we enjoyed something new and different and LOVED being in Fort Wilderness. I would suggest you rent a golf cart as that does make it easier to get around if you need something at the outpost store or want to head to the beach or pools etc. There is so much to do just here in Fort Wilderness!
I also suggest using a grocery service,
www.gardengrocer.com. You order on line and they will deliver directly to your cabin. It was great!
