This will be our first visit to Disneys water parks,Typhoon Lagoon. I'm wondering if we can bring our own cooler with drinks & snacks. Also, is there alot of shade? locker rental prices? How hot is the pavement, do we need water shoes?

Hi Gene! I'm so excited to see your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be starting in a few short days!

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is super fun and I'm so glad you are adding it to your vacation plans!

You have asked some fabulous questions!

To begin, a cooler with snacks is permitted. However, there are a couple of important rules you need to be aware of before you visit. According to the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, "Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park. Loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers. Re-usable ice packs are recommended."

My family and I recently visited Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and I can tell you there are several great places to sit, relax and enjoy your refreshments in shaded areas.

Of all of your questions, the one I think is most important at this time is the water shoes. YES! Wear water shoes. When we were there, my son and I both had our water shoes on and it was perfect! My husband and daughter kept telling us they were fine. A few hours into our day, they both bought water shoes because their feet started hurting. Fortunately, the prices were comparable to what we would find at home and the selection was good. I would still advise coming to the park wearing your water shoes so you can begin enjoying the attractions immediately. There are a few attractions where water shoes are not permitted. When this happens, you can simply hold them. A few years ago I saw a Guest put his on his hands like they were gloves. I followed his example and it worked very well.

Thanks so much for sharing your questions with the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let me know if you have any other questions as you get ready to soak up the action at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park!
