Hi my first visit to disney world is in may with two ten year grandaughters dont know were to start any tips please

    Hi Karen!

Since you know when you want to go, the next step is to figure out where you want to stay.  I recommend staying at Walt Disney World so that you never have to leave the magic.  There are perks with staying on property, including:
    • Use of Disney's Magical Express for free transportation to and from Orlando International Airport
    • Access to Extra Magic Hours in the theme parks
    • Package Delivery
    • Ability to purchase a Disney Dining Plan (has to be done before arriving)

If your budget allows, you should definitely consider staying in a Magic Kingdom monorail resort.  They are all fabulous and provide you easy access to the Magic Kingdom as well as to Epcot, via a  monorail transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center.  Of the three monorail resorts (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary), my favorite is the Polynesian followed closely by the Contemporary Resort.

With two young granddaughters, you might also consider staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It's location is not convenient, in my opinion, but the resort itself is spectacular with a lot of activities at the resort to keep guests occupied.  It is a favorite of many families with young children.  I would definitely consider staying there if your granddaughters love animals.  There's nothing like seeing exotic animals right outside the hotel!

To help you with your planning, I recommend getting the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors at is full of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel of everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps to get you started; please write back with more questions!
