Hi it’s our first visit to Disney and to Florida! I know you can’t predict the weather but what is it usually like in November I’m planning on packing shorts but my husband thinks it should be trousers as he thinks it will be colder - can you help at all

    Hi Lisa,

Welcome to planDisney, Florida and Walt Disney World! I'm so excited that you are about to experience the Most Magical Place on Earth for the first time.

I've lived in Central Florida for more than 40 years, so I can tell you that the weather does vary during the year, usually from hot to hotter. But early November tends to be the start of our more moderate season. It's one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World because the summer humidity usually has dissipated and daytime temperatures normally have dropped below 90 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time since early April.

Daytime highs in early November tend to be in the 80s (27-28 C) with nighttime temps in the 60s (around 18 C). I just flipped through the photos on my phone and see that I was at Animal Kingdom on November 6 last year in shorts and a light T-shirt. A week later, however, my husband and I were camping about 120 miles north of Walt Disney World and the nighttime temp dropped into the 30s during an unusual cold snap. That is frigid for us Floridians!

So my best advice is to be prepared for a range of temperatures. Your most comfortable attire, of course, will depend on your personal tolerance for heat or cool. I would recommend packing light clothes that can be worn in layers, just in case the weather does something unexpected like it did in mid-November last year. But my best guess is that you will be comfortable in shorts on most days of your visit.

By the way, the pools at hotels in the Disney Resorts Collection are heated to 82 degrees year-round. So pack your bathing suit!

I hope that helps, Lisa. Please check back with us as other questions arise. We're always happy to assist.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
