First vacation in May 2010! We can't decide between POR or POP, both are in budget (but would have a bit more spending money if we choose POP). What do you think would be better? Thanks!

Hello Victoria!  If it means having more spending money in your budget, I'd probably go with the Pop!  I enjoy both resorts although I will say that Port Orleans Riverside (POR) does have a nice, tranquil feel to it.  The rooms at POR also include a refrigerator whereas you'd need to rent from Pop if that was important to you.  My suggestion would be to go with the resort that fits best in your budget.  I would then keep an eye out for discounts which may allow you to comfortably upgrade to POR.  My favorite place to find Disney discounts is mousesavers.com.  You can also keep an eye on the "special offers" link located at the top right of disneyworld.com.

I hope your first Disney vacation is super magical!  Diane
