Hi! First trip to WDW with 6 and 2 year old the week of Jan 8 2012. Our flight arrives around 10am and check in time is at 3pm staying at the Animal Kingdom...any suggestions on what to do? Thanks! So excited!!!!

    Hello there Karen!

Oh, I know, how excited you are! I remember taking my daughter, nieces, and nephew when they were that young! They were in awe of the place!!! If your flight arrives at 10am, it will roughly take you around twenty to thirty minutes to get to the Magical Express counter. It depends on how busy the area is when you arrive but it may take from a few minutes to another twenty to thirty minutes for a bus to depart for Animal Kingdom Lodge. Once on the road, It can take up to forty five minutes to get to the resort. So you will arrive at the Lodge roughly around 12pm.

I would try to talk to a Cast Member at the front desk to see if they have a room available. Sometimes they do have the rooms ready and you might get lucky enough to be upgraded. It's always a toss-up, so I never expect anything. If the room isn't ready, I would tour the grounds. Animal Kingdom Lodge has some beautiful views and the animals are typically present during the day. The pool area is amazing as well, and I'm sure the kids would love to go for a swim! There are so many fun things to do at the resort you'll have a great time there!!! I hope this information helps you with your planning and if you have more questions, please ask away, we are always here to help! Have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel!
