This is our first trip to WDW and we have two girls, ages 4 and 7. We are booked at the Port Orleans Riverside and I am now concerned we will not be totally happy with the resort. Would the Polynesian be worth the extra money? We want a memorable time

Hi Wayne, the Polynesian is an amazing resort, but it does cost a lot more money.  I think it really depends upon what you can afford.  If you feel that you can spend the extra money, then switch to the Polynesian.  But, if the Polynesian is a stretch financially, then don't switch.  The Port Orleans Riverside is a wonderful resort, and you will still have a great time staying there.

The extra benefits to the Polynesian are, in my opinion:
    • closer access to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and the other monorail resorts
    • larger rooms
    • more deluxe amenities
    • a better theme
    • better food options (although Boatrights and the food courts are still great)
I hope that helps you make your decision.
