It's our first trip to WDW with our son (who will be 2). We've booked a garden deluxe room at CR for our June vaca, but my family is all staying at WL. Thoughts on CR vs WL? Thanks!

    Hi Rebecca!

Contemporary Resort and Wilderness Lodge are two AMAZING Walt Disney World Resorts.  I recently stayed at the Contemporary for the first time in September, which completed my goal of staying in all of the Walt Disney World Resorts!

The major perk of the Contemporary is the monorail and location.  It is super convenient to hop a monorail to head to the Magic Kingdom, or take a nice stroll along the path right to the front gates.  Your son will probably love seeing the monorail zoom by inside the resort, mine does.

Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite Disney resorts.  The entire property is breath taking and the attention to detail leaves nothing to be desired for a lodge.  The location is also very convenient to the Magic Kingdom with the ferry boat that drops you off right in front.

I just asked my son (now 5) what he likes about both resorts.  The monorail is favorite part about the Contemporary (shocker) and he said "everything" about the Wilderness Lodge is his favorite.

Being close to family is certainly important, but there is a ferry boat that goes from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge, so you won't be too far away from them if you decide to keep your existing reservations.

    Happy New Year!
