First trip to WDW! If we want to get picture taken with cast members, can we just go up and ask? Or are there certain meet and greet times? We are excited about getting photos but we don't want to bother the characters!

    Hi Eric!

Oh, if only everyone was as considerate as you!  There is a certain protocol to follow when meeting the characters - I'm so glad that you asked.  Characters are usually escorted to a designated place by a cast member who will be happy to tell you where they are heading.  Once they stop, please stand in line and have your camera and/or autograph book ready to go.  When it is your turn to "meet and greet" just hop right up and say cheese!

Only "face" characters, such as princesses, will actually be able to speak to you.  All others communicate either through the cast member or hilarious gestures.  Also certain characters (usually those with abnormally large hands!) cannot sign autographs, but rather stamp your book.  I have never seen anyone rushed along, but the cast member will let you know when the character is about to take a break.  Don't worry, if you miss your chance with the character, simply ask when he/she will be back - it is sometimes just a short five minute break!

Say hi to Mickey for me!

    Much pixie dust,
