First trip to WDW in May with my sister & our 2- 4 year old girls. I have booked lunch at Hollywood & Vine, bfast at Akershus Royal hall, and dinner at AK Rainforest cafe. Do reservations hold true or should we plan on spending time waiting anyway?

It's never a bad idea to "budget in" a bit of waiting time, Katy.  That said, over the years we've found Disney restaurants to be fairly timely in seating guests with reservations.  Our longest waits have occurred at 'Ohana, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Mama Melrose.  We once had to wait nearly an hour past our reservation time for a dinner at 'Ohana.  Thankfully, that is the exception and not the norm.  Typically, I'd say the wait for a table can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes.  You might find that your character meals (especially the princess breakfast) will incur waits on the longer side.  I would definitely be prepared with some small activity to keep the kids occupied (stickers, bubbles, etc).  With any luck, though, you won't be waiting long.  Have a great trip!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
