This will be our first trip to WDW and also our first trip any further East than TX (from Alaska). We are wondering if the temps drop to freezing and there is percipitation, do they close rides (roller coasters)? We are worried about wind/cold outdoors.

Hi, Danielle! I live up north too. Not as high up as Alaska, but things do get pretty chilly for us in Wisconsin. I've been in Walt Disney World when locals and other southerners consider it pretty cold. We're talking weather that roams in the 40s early morning and late at night. For you and me, that's spring jacket weather. For some lightweights, they hunker down and bundle up.

Attractions very rarely close down due to cold and/or rainy weather. And, the colder or wetter the weather gets, the parks tend to be a little less crowded (Epcot is a good one when it rains.) My suggestion is to check the 10 day weather forecast for Lake Buena Vista, Fla. before you head out. Then pack accordingly. A hoodie or lightweight coat are usually good safeguards against the weather. Bring a couple umbrellas or ponchos if there's a chance of rain (they cost an arm and a leg if you purchase them in the parks.) Last but not least, sport some capris (and for your fella', manpris) to showcase your versatility to the elements.
