Hello Shannon and thanks for asking the Disney Parks Moms Panel such a great question.
Do you know, one of my most favourite and budget friendly ways to enjoy IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is simply by grabbing a delicious beverage from one of the many drinks carts dotted all around World Showcase and then securing myself a nice viewing spot in either the United Kingdom Pavilion itself or on the bridge between the United Kingdom and France Pavilions. I've watched IllumiNations so many times this way that it's almost become our go-to plan rather than spending any extra money on dining in restaurants.
You could always consider catching the fireworks from outside Epcot on Disney's Boardwalk; this delightful area is not only filled with charm but also with plenty of places to grab a snack and watch the sky light up!
If I can help sprinkle any extra pixie dust over your plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort for the very 1st time in May 2016 please pop back to ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
