First trip in June and have DDP for 6 nights. Have 3 kids. Boys 11 and 20 months and girl 8. What character meals do you suggest to make sure we get the most out of DDP (and our money's worth) and make sure all 3 of my picky kids enjoy themselves?

Hi Catherine! I am so happy to answer a question from a fellow resident of the Palmetto State. Buffets are probably your best best to get your money's worth and keep your picky eaters happy while dining with characters.

Your first choice for a character meal should be breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The classic Disney characters at this restaurant will please older children, toddlers, boys, and girls. The food choices are wide and vast, including Mickey waffles, doughnuts, fruit, gummy bears, and bacon. So much food is available you will definitely get some bang for your buck here.

Another option that offers multiple food choices is Tusker House in Disney's Animal Kingdom. Classic Disney characters such as Minnie and Mickey and Donald and Daisy hang out here and there are numerous food options. The buffet does offer African dishes that your kids might not try but there are oodles of all American child friendly choices available.

If you are considering a Disney Princess character dining experience the Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot only requires one table service credit while Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom needs two credits. The adult menu at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall might not meet the needs of your  picky 11 year old however. The first course of this meal is a buffet however. You can look at menus for both restaurants at the website Allears to help you decide.
