This is our first trip and i'm wondering if July 4th week is a bad week to go.I have a eight year old and a six year old.

    Hi Jeremy,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I think the bigger question here would be, "How much patience do you have?".  If this week is your only option for a visit to Walt Disney World it will probably take every ounce you've got.  This is one of the busiest weeks at the Disney Parks (along with the Christmas holiday week), as well as one of the hottest times of the year.

It certainly can be done, and thousands of guests do it every year - so I wouldn't discourage anyone from going if this was the only option.  I would choose your resort wisely if traveling at this time, as it may be your favorite spot to escape to during a busy day.

Since your children are still relatively young - it may be worthwhile to look at other options.  We have always taken our children out of school in either September or January so that we can experience the value rates, and low crowds.  This allows us for to make the very most of our vacation.  Less expensive + lower crowds = happy family.

    Good luck with your decision!
