For our first trip I'm torn between the Polynesian vs. Beach Club. We will have twins who will be turning 5 on our trip and I anticipate a lot of time being spent at MK but my husband is a foodie and will not want a long commute to parks.

    Hi Kristina,

You can't go wrong with either choice for your family’s first visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Although Disney’s Beach Club Resort has a truly amazing pool (Stormalong Bay) and is walking distance from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I would give Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort a slight edge for your family.

First, it's a much easier “commute” to Magic Kingdom Park (either via monorail or boat) and you’re within walking distance of the Transportation and Ticket Center, which will allow you to take a monorail directly to Epcot. For a first visit, especially with little ones, proximity to Magic Kingdom Park is key!

Some of my favourite restaurants in Walt Disney World Resort are located along the Resort Monorail loop. Your husband may enjoy places like California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Citricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While children are welcome at these restaurants (my little guy is 3 1/2 years old and has dined at both), don’t forget that you can go for a quiet, “adults only” dinner and send the wee ones for a night of kid-sized fun at Lilo’s Playhouse!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Lynne
