First trip to Disneyland and we’re staying at the Disneyland Hotel September 23-26 and can’t wait! What tower(s) or rooms would you recommend to avoid a construction site view? Thank you!

    Hiya, Robert!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR!

Oh Boy! I'm so very excited about your first trip to Mickey's original house! Be sure to ask for complimentary 'First Visit' celebration buttons for your whole crew. (These can be requested from the Front Desk at your hotel, at Guest Relations, or almost any Shop.)

The iconic (ear-conic?) Disneyland Hotel currently has three towers built on opposite sides of the hotel's pool complex (hEAR's a map) and each tower has Guest rooms on either side of an internal hallway. Another way to think of it is like a compass, with a tower currently on the North, East, and South side of the property with rooms facing either in towards the pool or out.

The brand new Disney Vacation Club tower is being built on the West side of the pool deck. (If you look at the map of the hotel, it currently looks like a big green grassy space.) This setup does sadly mean that most, if not all, pool-view rooms will have some level of sight of the construction site. Pool-view rooms in the Fantasy (North) and Adventure (East) towers do have a good number of trees and other obstacles between your window and the new building that the DVC tower will appear more in the background; however, pool-view rooms in the Frontier Tower (South) do have a front-row view to almost everything construction-wise.

If you booked a standard or garden view room, you might be in the Frontier tower on the opposite side. While you won't be able to see the construction, you shouldn't be able to hear it either as work and noise are limited to specific hours of the day. The Adventure tower also features standard or garden view rooms, which are on the lower levels opposite the pool deck. The higher floor rooms in the Adventure tower are considered 'Theme Park View', but note that there is visible Downtown Disney District construction from this side of this tower. The views from the Fantasy tower also range from standard to theme park depending on how high of a floor you're on.

I think that you're going to have a fantastic time no matter where the bed for your head is, Robert. Did you know that your hotel is closer to the magic than the parking areas for Annual Passholders and day guests? You and your Mouseketeers will be 'Home' and in your pajamas faster than those waiting for the parking lot tram!
