This will be a first trip to Disneyland for 4 of our grandchildren (2-7). We will be there for 5 days staying at the Grand Hotel. Any suggestions on how to get reservations for activities & dining with a group of 11?

Hi there Pamela, thanks for stopping by planDisney.  How exciting that you are able to take a magical trip with your Grandchildren to the Disneyland Resort!

If you are looking to dine together at a table service restaurant, I highly recommend that you secure your dining reservations 60 days in advance.  Some of our favorite kid-friendly table service restaurants are Carnation Cafe in Disneyland Park and Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure Park.  We usually like to sit down for a nice dinner at the end of a long day in the parks to rest our feet.  You can definitely try making a reservation for 11 Guests, or you may have better luck with 2 people making dining reservations, and splitting up the group into smaller numbers such as 6 and 5 Guests.

With such a large group, you may find it easier to opt for quick service locations that are more casual, and then everyone isn't tied to the same schedule with a dining reservation.  There are so many great quick service locations throughout both parks, our favorites include Bengal Barbecue and Hungry Bear Restaurant in Disneyland Park, and Flo's V8 Cafe and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta in Disney California Adventure Park.  Since you're staying at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, I cannot recommend GCH Craftsman Grill enough!  It's such a great option with so many tasty dishes such as the Baked Nachos, and it's usually not as busy as other locations inside the parks.

You can also take advantage of using mobile food and beverage ordering in the Disneyland app, which we try to use as often as possible to minimize waiting for our food!  Another tip is to try to plan meals either right before or after peak meal times, we've found that it's much easier to find a table when you aren't trying to eat when the majority of the Guests are also trying to find a table to dine at.

For activities such as attractions and entertainment, you can link your theme park tickets together which is especially helpful if you're going to be purchasing Disney Genie+ Service.  I highly recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ Service, it can be so helpful especially with younger kids with the access to Lightning Lane entrances and shorter wait times!  To link your theme park tickets together, open up the Disneyland app, and navigate to the three horizontal bar line in the bottom right-hand corner.  Tap "My Tickets & Passes" and then "Link Tickets & Passes."  From there, you can scan each theme park ticket you want to link, or type in the ticket numbers manually.

I hope all of this information is helpful for your trip planning, Pamela!  I'm wishing you and your family a wonderful trip, please come back and me any other questions you may have!

    Have a magical day!
