Our first trip to Disney. Going with two 8 yr old boys. We can't get into Ohana for dinner. Is it worth it to book for Breakfast (although the characters do not interest our boys) or can you recommend another great place for dinner in any park o resort?

    Hi Jenny,

'Ohana is a great place for breakfast.  Even though you don't anticipate that your eight-year-old boys will enjoy seeing the characters at this breakfast, I can't help but think they'll enjoy watching Stitch pull his typical pranks.  The views of the Magic Kingdom and the Seven Seas Lagoon are pretty spectacular too.  I love breakfast at 'Ohana and hope your family will too.

There is one other restaurant that is awesome fun for boys.  My tween son loves eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe in the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  There are no Disney characters, as such, but I have to tell you that the wait staff at this restaurant can be characters in their own right.  They've always got some mischief up their sleeves that eight-year-old boys are likely to appreciate.  I have no doubt that the boys would also enjoy exploring this resort before or after your meal.  It's only a short boat ride from the Magic Kingdom.  If you get the chance, watch Fire Rock Geyser erupt (on the hour) near the boat dock of this resort.  It's a pretty magical place.

I'm sure you'll have a lovely meal whether you choose 'Ohana or Whispering Canyon Cafe.  Don't forget to call and make advance dining reservations at (407) WDW-DINE as both of these restaurants are very popular and fill up fast.

    Thanks for a great question!
