Our first trip to Disney is in November of 2011. We have purchased the Dining Plan which includes 6 days of meals. We only have 5 days of Park Hopper tickets. Are we allowed to enter parks to eat at resturaunts even though we are a day short on tickets?

    Hi Stacy,

A first trip to Walt Disney World is absolutely memorable! I can't wait for your family to experience all the magic that WDW has to offer!

Any time that you enter one of the theme parks at WDW (Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios), you will need park admission. Therefore, during one day of your vacation, you'll need to plan meals outside of the parks.

There are plenty of options! Many of the resorts have wonderful table-service and counter service restaurants. Venture to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to view animals on the savanna, then have a meal at Boma. Go to the Wilderness Lodge and enjoy a meal at Whispering Canyon Cafe. It's fun visiting the resorts too!

You could also venture to Downtown Disney where there is a variety of restaurants including Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express.

Our family likes to take a day away from the parks to explore the resorts, Downtown Disney and/or a water park. For example, on one of our "down" days, we are going to Fort Wilderness to dine at the Trail's End buffet prior to enjoying an evening carriage ride.

Have a great vacation and remember to make Advance Dining Reservations for table-service restaurants!
