First trip to Disney with our little ones, 3 and 5 in Oct. 2012. Focusing on what they would be interested in where would you recommend staying and is the "free dining plan" available on 4 day visits??

Hi Rebecca! Your kids will be so excited about their first Disney trip coming up in just a few months! Pretty soon you will have to start a countdown calendar for them!

Check out the suggested list of the different attractions for the age of your children by clicking HERE. EAch child is different with likes and dislikes but it is a good place to start by reading the description of the rides and shows.  Make a list for each park you will be visiting and be aware of any that offer a Fast Pass as you will want to use that to speed up your time in lines.  Have a plan but don't be afraid to deviate from it and just enjoy the spontaneity of the parks. I strongly suggest visits to the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom and perhaps a half day visit to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios if you don't feel a full day is in the cards at those parks.

Since the Magic Kingdom will likely be the park of choice for your family I suggest either the Polynesian or the Wilderness Lodge. Both are located close to this park with the Polynesian very conveniently located on the monorail. The Wilderness Lodge has a fun boat to the park so both are easy access.

Right now the Free Dining plans for the fall require a six night stay at a Disney World resort. You can read the specifics by clicking HERE.
