This is our first trip to Disney with 2 kids (age 5 & 7) and we are staying 1 day at magic kingdom. Can you tell me stuff we should do.

    Hi, Bonnie!

You can certainly fit in a LOT of magic in one day, so be ready for some fun! Start by packing a tote bag with snacks, refillable water bottles, hats, autograph books, rain ponchos etc. You want to be ready for anything!

If possible, book a lunch at the Crystal Palace where you can dine with Pooh and his friends.  This is a great opportunity to meet some special Disney Pals, and also a nice mid-day break.

Plan to hit the "must-see" attractions such as it's a small world, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean.  Check your Times Guide when you enter the park for parade and fireworks schedules.

For a bit of a rest from the hustle and bustle of the day, enjoy some "tamer" attractions such as Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, and Tomorrowland Transit Authority.  The lines for these attractions are usually short, and it will give you a few minutes to catch your breath!

For dinner, try Cosmic Rays or Pinocchio Village Haus, and for a sweet treat, you simply must try a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar!

Pace yourself for a long day, and give your kids some much needed rest time during the day to keep the magic going the whole day long.  Good luck and have fun planning!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
