Have my first trip to Aulani in a few weeks with a party of 6. How do reservations work for activities? I know some are complementary, but is there a deposit for the ones with fees? And what works the deposit be? Trying to budget in advance.

    Aloha Gabriela, welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney today, I’m always happy to chat about Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member. My family visited the resort last year and had an incredible time! The resort is stunning and my kids loved chilling in the Waikolohe Valley Pool area, visiting Aunty’s Beach House and participating in a variety of activities through the Pau Hana Room (Community Hall). There are many different types of activities offered by the resort in addition to excursions that are operated by third-party operators. You can be as busy or as relaxed as you’d like while staying at Aulani!

It sounds like you’ve visited the Aulani website and discovered the activities section. Here, you can select the area you’re interested and filter the selections that interest you most. To find the activities offered in the Pau Hana Room, select “All Activities” and then you’ll see that “Pau Hana Room - Community Hall” is the first result. Click on it and you’ll see a short description of the activities such as Make your own Mickey Ears, Kāpala Ki'i - t-shirt stamping activity, Ohana Painting Party and more. (Note: not all activities are listed here). To reserve a spot, click on the brown “Reserve Now” button at the right of the page. You’ll be redirected to an external site where you can see the available activities for the following 30 days. Some of the listed activities are complimentary but still require a reservation. To reserve an activity that has a fee, you’ll need to pay the full amount in order to book your spot.

The activity description includes the location of the activity (Pau Hana Room, Aunty’s Beach House, Ko’Olina Lagoon 1). My family tried several different activities and our favourites were ‘Ohana Ho’okani Pila (‘ukulele lessons) and Thingamabobs - A Mermaid’s Tale (a beach activity) - we all had a blast!

I highly recommend checking the Daily ‘Iwa - it’s the place to go to be in the know! You’ll find information about the times and locations of all activities including where and when to spot your favorite Disney Characters or when to head to Rainbow Reef to snorkel and feed the fish.

Gabriela, I hope this information helps you navigate Aulani’s activities. I wish you a wonderful vacation in paradise, enjoy making magical memories! If you have any other questions, please let me know. I’m happy to help!

A Hui Hou, (this means until we see each other again in Hawaiian)
