this is our first trip and we aren't staying on location can you explain fast pass to me and how to use it as well as recommend rides and times for a 7 and an 11 year old boys. we are only doing two days and were thinking MK and HS is 1 a day best?

Hi, Cynthia! FastPass+ can make your day in the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks magically efficient. Basically, once you have a Disney Theme Park Ticket linked to your My Disney Experience account, then you can make up to three FastPass+ selections at a single theme park per day. So, if you have a 5-Day Park Hopper ticket, you will be able to make FastPass+ selections for any five days within that ticket's period of use. Even though it is a Park Hopper ticket, you will need to choose just one park for which to make those FastPass+ selections. Since you are staying off-property, then you can begin making your selections 30 days in advance of each day you plan to visit a theme park.

At this time, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park have a tier system. You can make one selection from the choices in Tier One and two choices from Tier Two. Once you use all three of your FastPass+ selections, you can hop on the My Disney Experience mobile app or visit an in-park FastPass+ kiosk to make another selection. This next selection can be from any of the four parks and from any tier grouping. My favorite selections at these parks are Slinky Dog Dash, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Star Tours, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

The parks you mentioned are great choices for younger and preteen boys. Since you are focusing on two days, then I think you will be better off just going to one park each day. If you get Park Hoppers, you can squeeze in a half day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on the same day you visit Disney's Hollywood Studios, but that would be a big expense for just one "hop."

Thanks for stopping by again! Let us know if you have any other questions, especially about making FastPass+ selections.
