Hi Marcia,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!
I’m thrilled to hear that you’re planning your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort this year. And, you’ve already crossed the number one tip that I have for a first visit:
you’re staying in the middle of the Magic in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.
The first thing that you’ll need to do is to make sure you get a “First Visit” celebration button, the moment you arrive. Because you’ll need to stop at your Resort’s
Front Desk in order to pick up any
Disney Bands (also known as “MagicBands”) that you may have ordered, be sure to tell the Cast Member who confirms your check in for your stay that it’s your first visit. They’ll give you your buttons and you can display them proudly wherever you go.
There isn’t typically anything placed in your Resort hotel room for a first visit, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t spring for a nice surprise for you and your family!
In-Room Floral & Gifts are always an amazing treat, for any stay, so be sure to take a look at the various options available during your stay. Also, if you want to make your visit extra memorable, check out the
Enchanting Extras Collection. That’s the place where you can find all kinds of unique and fun experiences, inside the Theme Parks and beyond!
Marcia, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you need any other help planning your first visit. Walt Disney World Resort can be a big place and it can be tough to see and do everything the first time, which is why I HIGHLY recommend making a list of “must dos” for you and your family and prioritizing certain events and experiences that you don’t want to miss. If you need any help making that list, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us. We’re always happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
