Hi there! First timer here! I have purchased tickets for my family of 9 all on my account. My family wants to split up when arriving to the parks. What are my options here regarding to Genie+?

    Hey there Miraya,

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question. I'm so thrilled to hear that you're planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort later this year - and with a big group, no less. It'll be so much fun!

I can definitely relate with the need for bigger groups to split up throughout your visit. I just visited the Happiest Place on Earth with a large group of family members, and while we were together most of the time - it was so helpful to use the trick I'm going to outline below when we did want to branch off and do different things!

Without further ado: the trick. Ideally, everyone in your group will have downloaded the Disneyland Resort mobile app to their phones and signed in with a MyDisney account. However, if you have little ones in the group or others who don't have access to a phone - Hakuna Matata! You'll just want to make sure that they always stick with someone who does have the Disneyland Resort mobile app on their phone throughout the trip.

Next is linking your theme park tickets amongst your group! To do this, everyone with the mobile app will want to open it and select the menu button (the three horizontal bars). From here, tap "My Tickets & Passes" and then "Link Tickets & Passes." You'll have a few options to choose from to actually link your tickets, but will likely want to either use your phone camera to scan each ticket barcode or manually type in the ticket ID.

If your whole group is together when doing this step, I would recommend taking turns scanning everyone's tickets until every member in the group that has the mobile app has scanned all the group's tickets.

However, for the family trip I mentioned earlier, we were in different states when we linked our tickets so we just started a group chat, took screenshots of our tickets and shared with the group so everyone could scan them into the app. It worked great!

Thanks again for your question, Miraya! As you continue to plan, make sure to come back and see us if you think of any follow-ups. We'd love to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Greg
