My ?? (as a first timer) is, I have only made 1 reservation per day of our stay - either B/L or D because I do not want to over-book us and end up only eating. (we have deluxe dining plan). What do other families do? I need advice?

    Hi there Melanie!

The deluxe dining plan is a fantastic way to enjoy some of Disney's finest and most fun restaurants.  It's very flexible, as you can use your dining credits at both table service and quick service (counter) restaurants.  In addition, with so many credits (3 meal credits per person per day plus two snacks), you can enjoy Disney's signature dining restaurants (California Grille, Yachtsman Steakhouse and Narcoossee's are some of our favorites!) that require two credits.

As for how many advanced dining reservations (ADRs) to make, it's up to you.  With such a fabulous plan, I would want to ensure that I got to experience all of the restaurants that were on my "must eat at" list, and would make the corresponding ADRs.  While it's certainly possible to dine at table service restaurants without ADRs, depending upon the time of year you are traveling, wait times can be long.  During peak season, when restaurants are fully booked, some of the more popular venues will not have room for parties without reservations.  Making ADRs takes a bit of time and planning up front, but in my opinion, it ends up saving time (waiting for a table) once you are on vacation.  Most of my Moms Panel pals would agree that making reservations helps facilitate a smooth trip.

That being said, if you are planning on eating at many counter service restaurants, you don't mind waiting for a table, and won't be disappointed if you don't get seated at a particular establishment on a given, day, you can "wing it" with just a few ADRs at your top picks.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!
