hi moms this is my first time going to WDW with my 4 year old he is very shy and gets scared easily im concerned when we get there he may not enjoy the rides or the caracters any advise?

    Hi there Alishia!

If there's one thing that has always impressed me about the cast members at Walt Disney World, it's that they seem to innately know which children are a little hesitant around the characters or need time to adjust to a specific attraction. When I was in Disney last November with a dear friend and her 3 year old son, I watched Stitch play peek-a-boo with her shy toddler and give him high fives. Before long, they were hugging and the best of friends!

I would recommend scheduling at least one Disney character meal at the start of your vacation to give your preschooler time to warm up to the idea of a larger-than-life Mickey Mouse. Don't forget to have your camera at the ready to capture those priceless first meeting moments!

Also, be sure to check out the great suggestions for Traveling with Little Ones on the Disney website for ideas on introducing your little guy to the attractions and for details on ride height restrictions.

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions my way in the days leading up to your trip!
