Hi there! First time to WDW Oct 13to Oct19. my husband and I have a 6 yo girl, and two boys 7&8 looking for any suggestions you have to help us in planning! Thanks in advance!!

    Hi!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

You are going during a great time of year.  There are two great special events going on at Walt Disney World at that time.  The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  Epcot's Food and Wine Festival is a lot of fun, but very popular with the locals, especially on the weekends.  I suggest avoiding Epcot on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays while the festival is taking place.  Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is held on select nights in the Magic Kingdom and it requires a special party ticket.  I suggest looking into this event for your children; most children absolutely love trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom in costume!

To help you plan which park you should visit on which day, I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  Touring Plans is the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd level in each park and making recommendations on which parks to visit and which to avoid on a specific day.  That said, you are not going during a crowded time.  You can pretty much follow a schedule that makes sense to you but I still suggest avoiding Epcot on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays due to the festival.

I also recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors and it is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  Our responses are limited in length, but I hope this helps!  Just write back with more questions!
