    First time WDW with myself, mom, and ten yr old brother. Any tips for character dining and lunch fantasmic show? Can't do breakfast or dinner reservations since hotel offers free breakfast daily and free dinner mon-thurs.

    It sounds like you have a fun trip planned and have found yourselves a great deal on lodging. It's always great to be able to get some of your meals for free.

    Your question presents a little bit of a challenge. Character dining at lunch is limited to only a few places:

    Magic Kingdom: Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Table

    Epcot: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

    Animal Kingdom: Tusker House Restaurant

    Hollywood Studios: Hollywood & Vine

    Here's the catch: If you are wanting character dining that includes the Fantasmic Dining Package, that isn't an option. The Fantasmic Dining Package is offered with lunch at Mama Melrose or the Hollywood Brown Derby, but neither of those have character dining. Between those 2, I recommend that you book Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic Dining Package and enjoy a lunch with characters some other time during your trip.
