Hi, first time to WDW, first time overseas. I am a single mum with a 14 yo daughter. We will be at the Swan & Dolphin on 4 July 2012. As this is your Independence Day, where would you suggest we go to see the celebrations during the day and at night

    Hi Jane!

Congratulations on your first visit! Our family celebrated Independence Day at the Walt Disney World Resort a few years ago. I would have to say the 4th of July enhanced fireworks display which takes place at Magic Kingdom is "the best."

Disney's Celebrate America: A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky is a 360 degrees fireworks extravaganza presentation featuring patriotic music themed to spectacular pyrotechnics that ring throughout the park. The special Independence Day fireworks display is generally shown both July 3rd and July 4th. One caveat, if you choose to visit Magic Kingdom either day, I recommend planning on getting there as early as possible and spending the remainder of the day at the park. Magic Kingdom reaches capacity early in the day during special holiday events. If you leave the park, or arrive too late in the day, there is a chance you will not be able to get in to watch the show.

At Epcot you may experience the "Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert" in the America Gardens Theatre stage featuring the Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps and several Disney characters. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will feature a patriotic finale. In addition there is usually a fireworks display with a Rock 'n' Roll soundtrack at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In general, I would recommend visiting Magic Kingdom on the third and either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios on the fourth.

Enjoy these special Independence Day celebrations at the Walt Disney World Resort!
