Hello :) it’s our first time going to Walt Disney world ! My son has autism. I know there’s a disability pass but I’m not sure where to get it or how it’s used . Please help !! Thank you !!

Greetings, and welcome to planDisney, Sandra!

I am so happy to hear that you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, and as a mother of an autistic adult son who grew up visiting the Disney Parks & Destinations, I feel I can shed some light to help make your visit with your son the best ever!

Walt Disney World Resort’s continual efforts to afford all Guests an inclusive and enjoyable visit is evident with the vast Services for Guests with Disabilities, and in particular with Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS).

The DAS presents the registered Guest an opportunity to relax, grab a bite to eat or enjoy other experiences while waiting for the selected DAS Return Time. You can register your son, in one of two ways, in advance of your visit from 2 days to 30 days before your arrival with DAS Advance virtual chat, or in-person inside any Walt Disney World Resort theme park at Guest Relations.

In preparation for your DAS registration, kindly ensure your Family & Friends list in your Disney account is up to date so that you will be able to include those in your travel party to your DAS Guestlist. Please note that all Guests will require valid theme park admission and a Disney Park Pass – Theme Park Reservation.

The benefit of the DAS Advance registration is that it takes place from the comfort of your home and in consultation with the Cast Members you will be able to select 2 DAS Return Times for each day of your theme park admission, and then you will be able to select continuous DAS Return Times during your theme park visit. The registered DAS Guest or anyone in the DAS Guestlist may self-select DAS Return Times using the My Disney Experience app, by visiting a Guest Experience Booth, or at an attraction entrance, but the registered DAS Guest must be present when boarding an attraction.

    Tips:
You may use the Disney Genie+ service along with the DAS accommodation during your visit.
Please link your reservations to your My Disney Experience account and download the My Disney Experience app to manage your plans.

Sandra, I would love to help you plan further, please reach out to me here on planDisney, thank you!
