Hello Erica!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  This is a great place for help planning your 1st Walt Disney World vacation - you all must be so excited!  Be sure to pick up your 1st Visit Celebration Buttons when you arrive - you just may get some extra-special attention or greetings from the Cast Members.  You can get these at any Walt Disney World Resort, or Guest Relations at the four theme parks, free of charge.

You haven't mentioned how many days you are staying at Walt Disney World, so I'll just answer your question in a general manner that you can then adapt to your vacation.  First, you will need to decide how many separate days you wish to visit the theme parks - some people like to do 1 park per day, so in that case you would require a 4 day base ticket.  If you think you'd like to visit more than 1 park on a day, you will need to add the Park Hopper option which will allow you multiple entries into more than one park each day.  Without this feature you would be restricted to visiting only one theme park per day.  I know that many families do enjoy the flexibility of being able to park hop, but for my family, we really enjoy just remaining at one park and really exploring it and enjoying all that it has to offer, on a single day.  It can save you some money if you decide to go this route.

Base tickets are available from 1 day up to 10 days, so you will need to decide what is right for your family and whether or not you need the park hopper option.  If you think that you might like to visit one of the two water parks at Walt Disney World, I highly recommend adding the Water Parks Fun & More option to your base tickets - it's really worth the minimal extra charge and gives you some really fun options.

Please let me know Erica, if you have any other questions while planning your magical 1st Visit to Walt Disney World!  I'd love to help you!
