As first time visitors,is there a checklist of things to bring? Someone suggested ponchos for the waterrides. We are staying at the Baytower. The on-line check in asked if we had special requets (i.e. a certain floor or near the skybridge) Suggestions?

    Hi Alicemarie!

What a great question you have asked!  Although your checklist will be influenced by the time of year you visit, here are a list of things I think every guest to Walt Disney World should bring:

2 pairs of comfortable shoes (never bring brand new shoes to the parks to avoid blisters)
waterproof shoes (for rides where you're likely to get wet)
    sun screen
an autograph book and pen for character and cast member signatures
a backpack (for carrying your essentials through the parks)
an envelope or documents pouch for your key travel papers
    inexpensive water ponchos
    swimsuit
    sunglasses
    camera with extra batteries
a small electronic device with games to help your kids (or you) pass the time while waiting in line

As for room requests at Bay Lake Tower, ask for the highest floor your room category will allow as the views get better higher up on the tower.  Also, my family prefers the views at the center of the building as opposed to the sides.  Being close to the walkway to the Contemporary will save you many steps over the course of your vacation.

Have fun and let us know if you need any additional advice. We'd be happy to help!
