First time visitors and wondering if New Orleans French Quarters are kid friendly, actitivies, pool? Are the water parks a must see/experience?

To be honest with you Alice, all Disney resorts are "kid friendly" and fun!  Port Orleans French Quarter is a bit smaller then its neighbor the Port Orleans Riverside but many families enjoy that intimacy.  This is a moderate resort and will have the same amenities offered at all other moderates.  If you would like to compare several in this category you can do this by clicking HERE and choosing three to compare.  Just click the small box under the picture of the resort that says compare and you will see a nice side by side description of three resorts.

Depending on the month of your visit would depend on whether I would say the water parks are a must see experience.  During the cooler months I would not recommend taking the time for the water parks but during the hotter times it is a great place to escape the heat. Of course this also means they will be at their most crowded capacity.  For my family the water parks come in last as far as things to do and visit. But we also have the opportunity to visit water parks at home so this isn't a unique experience for us.  I think it will depend on your family interests whether you should schedule this into your itinerary. I most certainly wouldn't give up a theme park to enjoy a water park for a day. If you have the extra time then it is something to consider.
