Hi Heather!
I am not an adventurous eater, but I can always find something at any of the Walt Disney World restaurants. I am the one that has a completely customized order everywhere we go. "Hold this, add this, can you do this instead?" I always ask for a kids menu for myself and sometimes end up ordering from it. When you order from the kids menu as an adult, they make it an adult size portion and charge an adult sized price. You can certainly do this for your kids, but it's up to you if you want to use your dining plan credits.
When I am on the dining plan, I choose the most expensive restaurants to use my credits for, which usually ends up being all you can eat places. These are wonderful because your entire family can choose what they want to eat and there is always a kids section. (That's where you'll see me.)
My favorite is
'Ohana, which is a Polynesian style restaurant in the Polynesian Resort. You'll find sticky chicken wings, noodles, grilled meat and the most delicious dessert. It is served family style, so all the food is brought to your table and you can have as much as you like, including the dessert. It is a character breakfast in the morning with lots of yummy choices. Time it right for dinner and you can see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from your table!
My other favorites for a picky eater are Chef Mickey's character buffet in the Contemporary Resort, San Angel Inn in Mexico in Epcot, (The soft tacos on the kids menu are delish!), Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge and even Beirgarten in Germany in Epcot.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
