    Hello, This is going to be our first time visiting the world and we are very excited! We have purchased the deluxe dining plan and I see that it has two snacks per day, are these snacks from Gaston's Tavern, or a Dole Whip, or would those require extra $?

    Hi Charlotte,

    How exciting to be experiencing your first Walt Disney World vacation!  You are correct; the Deluxe Dining Plan provides 3 meals and 2 snacks per day.  I have experienced the Deluxe Dining Plan before and can testify that it is a lot of food and you will not be hungry on vacation!

    Your snack credits may be used at multiple restaurants and snack carts throughout the Walt Disney World Resort including Gaston's Tavern and at Aloha Isle (Dole Whip location) in Magic Kingdom.  The snacks which are eligible for purchase using your snack credits will be indicated on the menu and will have a Disney Dining Plan purple icon beside it.  It is important to note that there may be some items which are not eligible to purchase with a snack credit, notably turkey legs and the pork shank at Gaston's Tavern.  However the Dole Whips at Aloha Isle and LeFou's brew at Gaston's Tavern are included as snack options.

    When using the Disney Dining Plan for my family I usually budget a small amount extra money for items not included in our entitlements.  It sounds funny but we usually have a "turkey leg" budget in addition to our standard Disney Dining Plan.  Even though we always have plenty of food, there's just something about those turkey legs that makes my husband and kids so happy!

    Don't forget that if you find yourself with leftover snack credits at the end of your stay, purchase pre-packaged items to take home.  I always enjoy bringing home a few extra Mickey Rice Crispy treats to savor later.
