This is my first time visiting the parks alone. I'm a plus size gal. Normally I do fine getting off rides on my own. But some I usually have a member of my party help. Can CMs help me with covid going on since I'm by myself? I'm really nervous

    Welcome back to planDisney, Larrissa!

I am thrilled to hear that you have a solo trip coming up! And you’ll be visiting during the holiday season! I don’t think it can get more magical than that!

Due to the restrictions and precautions surrounding this time, Walt Disney World Resort has implemented a lot of new measures to ensure the safety of Cast Members and Guests. During this point of the phased reopening, character experiences, parades, personal service experiences, and other activities involving close proximity/physical touch have been limited and rethought in order to provide a safe environment that adheres to the new health and safety guidelines. Sometimes it feels like Emperor Kuzco has enacted a “no touchy” rule; however, we know that these parameters are keeping Walt Disney World Resort open and as safe as possible!

In the past, Cast Members have offered a helping hand on a few rides. Jungle Cruise is an attraction that has offered hand rails and a friendly Cast Member on the dock for assistance. However, when I visited in July, any physical assistance previously offered had been replaced with friendly reminders to use the hand rails. A hand sanitizing station was always near after rides as well, which made me feel very comfortable using the hand rails as much as I needed!

Though Cast Members are unable to provide physical assistance, there are many ways in which you should feel comfortable when disembarking from attractions, Larrissa! If there is a particular seat or row (think: front, middle, or back) that you feel more comfortable getting out of, kindly request that seat when being directed toward the ride vehicles by a Cast Member! They are almost always able to meet the requests you have, especially when it makes your experience more magical! You can also request, before getting in line for an attraction, to try the practice seat! This is really handy, and it may give you a better idea of how comfortable you will be while disembarking the attraction alone. Just find a Cast Member at the front of the attraction you’re wanting to experience and they will be more than happy to help you!

I really cannot wait for you to enjoy a little alone time at The Most Magical Place on Earth, Larrissa! If you have any questions leading up to your trip, we would love to hear from you again at planDisney!

    Keep moving forward
